VERSAILLES, Ohio, Dec. 5, 2024 — Midmark Corp., a leading medical solutions provider focused on the design of the clinical environment to improve the delivery of care, recently was invited to speak with students from the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture + Design at Indiana University Bloomington.
The presentation was part of the Interior Design Vertical Studio class taught by Miyoung Hong, senior lecturer, interior design, Indiana University Bloomington. Midmark Medical Territory Portfolio Manager Tony Dues shared insights with these talented future professionals on the evolving outpatient market and how exam room design is adapting to meet new demands.
"It was an honor to be with this energetic group of aspiring interior designers and to experience their phenomenal spirit to learn," said Dues. "They were very interested to hear how ergonomic design and equipment can enhance the patient and caregiver experience. I am excited to see where their professional careers will take them and proud to be a part of an organization, like Midmark, that supports student development to advance healthcare."
As part of the class, the students are currently designing a new medical office building for Cook Medical, a large medical company based in Bloomington. To help provide guidance, Hong asked Midmark to provide insights on how Midmark’s approach to ergonomic design can support patient comfort and operational efficiencies and the impact of equipment design on clinical workflows in outpatient settings.
"We prioritize hands-on learning for building skills to help our students land their future dream job," added Hong. "Opportunities to learn and build relationships with industry leaders, such as Midmark, are critical to students in gaining practical knowledge and understanding the real-world applications of their studies."
